Thank You!

Thank you for sharing your children with us this year.  Here are some photos of the fun activities we did this week.  We had a teachers vs 6th grade basketball game, our rescheduled field day, Relay for Life fun fair, Tie Dying, Egg Drop and our Relay for Life Closing Ceremonies where we donated $5,750 to Cancer Research and finally spending the last 15 minutes of our day dancing together in the hall!!!  What a great school to be a part of!   Have a great summer!

WOW!!! Last Week of School!

It is so hard to believe that we are beginning the last week of school.  We are so proud of how far this group of kids has come.  The invention fair was a success last week and we had a lot of great comments from our guests.  The items the students came up with were so creative and neat.  The students really showed genuine concern and compassion for people with the disabilities they chose.  The students have become so good at telling not reading information.  They have really learned that a good presentation requires you to know what you are talking about and  it is not just having all of your information on a presentation and reading it.  This is one of the things we are most proud of with this group.
In science we finished up with our prosthetic legs.  The kids were very creative in what they brought in to make these legs.  They had a lot of fun making their legs kick a ball.  The photos attached show their fun legs.
This last week we will be participating on Tuesday afternoon with the Relay for Life that the sixth graders are putting on.  Each student will be given two tickets to do activities.  If students want to purchase more tickets they can bring money and purchase tickets for $1.00.  All of the money raised will go to Relay for Life.  Our school has worked very hard towards our goal of raising $5000.  We have really enjoyed our dress up days and had a lot of fun with the kids!
On Wednesday, we will be walking to the high school track to participate in our first ever fifth grade field day.  We are excited to enjoy this fun time.  On Thursday morning we will be having our awards program at 9:00.  Students receiving special awards will be given notes on Monday to bring home.  We wish we could give more awards but we are limited to very few.  All of the students have made great gains this year and we are very proud.
We hope you have a great week!
