Welcome Back!

We hope that everyone had a nice fall break and are ready to tackle the next month before Thanksgiving.  The week before break was a busy one with a spirit assembly and our Disabilities/Invention Fair.  We were very proud of our students and their ideas to help people with disabilities.  We also appreciate all of you parents who came to visit the students and their displays.

This week on Thursday is our field trip to Notre Dame.  We will go rain or shine so if their is a chance of rain please have your students come prepared.  This is always a fun trip and we have a lot of parents coming with us so we hope for a beautiful day!

October reading calendars are due before November 6th.  Don't forget sign those and have your child turn them in.  Thanks for your encouragement having your students continue to read.

Here are some photos from the week before fall break!

New Quarter Begins Tomorrow

Can you believe it?  Quarter two begins tomorrow!  This first quarter has flown by.  It is hard to believe that we have just finished our first grading period.  Parent/teacher/student conferences have begun.  Fall Break will be October 19-23.  We would like to have all conferences finished before Fall Break.  Multiple notes have been sent home so please contact the homeroom teacher if you have not scheduled a conference yet.
Our Notre Dame field trip will be October 29th.  Notes went home last week about this trip.  We have had a lot of parents sign up to come with us already.  The attached paper for parents will be sent home with those who have signed up to come with us.  This is always a fun trip and a great time.   Permission slips and money all need to be in by October 16th.
Our current project is in the final stages.  Stuents have been hard at work on their prototypes and their presentations.  Notes are coming home tomorrow in Monday folders about the Invention/Innovation Fair that we are having on October 15th (12:30-2:30).  We hope that some of you will be able to come and check out the students displays and see their hard work in action.  We were lucky enough to have one of the engineers from Zimmer/Biomet come and talk to us at the beginning of this project.
Hopefully, you have all seen the tie dye shirts by now.  What fun and they turned out pretty good!  The kids did a great job!  We always enjoy this project!
With the start of a new month a new reading calendar should have come home.  This is a very easy way to get points in language arts.  Almost all of the students turned this in this month and that was great those that did not lose valuable points that could have helped their grade!  Also, most students have been doing a great job with their Achieve 3000 which is a weekly school requirement.  We have seen some great growth already this year.  Keep up the good work kids!
     Have a great week!
