Last Full Week of April!

Well, another week down.  It is so hard to believe that these weeks are flying by so quickly.  The students have been busy at work on their newest projects.  They have been learning about different disabilities and will soon be choosing the disability they want to work on.  They seem very excited about their newest project.  We hope that they come up with some great ideas to help those with disabilities.  We are hoping to have a "Invention Fair" that we will be able to have parents attend!
We continued to work on LEAD this week and will be heading to our Mock Trial this coming Thursday!  That is always a neat experience.  Also, our Notre Dame trip is just over a week away as well!  The kids are very excited about that one as well.  If you have not turned in a permission slip please do so ASAP!
We will be taking the ISTEP beginning with the practice test on Monday.  We will be testing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday!  We hope you will encourage your child to do their best on these tests.  A good night's sleep and a good breakfasts are a must!
The students did a short Earth Day project in humanities this week and we also celebrated Earth Day here at Riverside with Earth Hour where we turned out all of the lights and "unplugged" for an hour.  Mr. Premetz read to the students, "The Giving Tree" and we had a great discussion and a fun activity afterwards.  The hour flew by!
Check out the video our 6th grade SOLE kids put together for Riverside's Relay for Life project.  Our entire student body is in it!  Here is the link!  http://vimeo.com/90971229
Have a great week!  Here are a few more photos from last week and this week!
