WOW, What a week!

Wow, we could not be any prouder of our team!  The play/music performance on Thursday was AWESOME!  This was by far one of the most exciting evenings for us this year!  We are all still beaming with pride!
To think that this all started with an idea that we were not all convinced would work with 100 learners!  We started in groups of 4, and those groups drew an event from the American Revolution and they researched this event and "taught" their Humanities class about the event.  Next the groups put together a timeline of all of the events they learned about.  We then paired up the two groups who had researched similar events.  These groups worked together to write a scene for their part of our play.  We worked with PHS advanced acting students and they gave our kids some great ideas.  The students presented what they had to the team and they gave each other some great ideas.  They then went back to their small groups and tweaked their scene.  They never stopped working to make them better until the day of the performance.  They practiced their scenes a bunch!  The students worked on their own costumes and helped with the sets and props!  Mrs. Briles added music to our production and together the students worked to help mix the music into places where they made sense!  In the end, this ended up exceeding our expectations beyond our wildest dreams.
We have heard from a lot of you asking about a copy of the video.  We are working on putting together a DVD of both the afternoon and the evening performance.  We will send home a paper soon with the cost of this DVD.  We will take orders soon.  Thanks for your enthusiasm and for all of the nice notes we have received!  The next project kicks off later this week!  We hope are excited for this next adventure!
Here are a ton of photos from the performances!  Enjoy!
